2013 ~ New Beginnings

The best part of January 1 is its a New year and a new beginning to start over and reestablish new ideas and also start a new project life album.

I did alright in 2012 collecting all the items, taking photos & writing each day the problem was assembling the pages into the binder. It was difficult as I did not have a location where I could keep my album out with out it becoming a dog toy or cat napper mat.

So for 2013 I plan to continue the style and concept of project life. I am only going to make it my own!!! After moving this past Spring and seeing the 12+ boxes of scrapbook stuff it made me realize that I have stuff not scrapbooks. It was hard but I made a promise to myself that I would use up everything I have before buying more.

After digging into the boxes and finding several mini albums I realize how much fun I love doing mini albums...so the idea hit me for 2013 I will do a mini album!

Why a mini album?

  • It is 6x6  so I can carry it with me
  • The pages are both card stock and plastic pockets. The pockets are made from misc other pages that were cut down to fit the size.
  • I can use up a great deal of stashed items in that size format
  • It will fit on the shelf easier
  • There is only 2 of us
  • Don't feel obligated to scrap everyday!!!

I know you are asking yourself "How will 365 days fit in a 6x6?"
That is the best part, if and when I feel this album is full I can begin another mini album. It doesn't have to all fit into one book.

Here is a peek at the beginnings of the 2013 album:

My next project during 2013 is to finish what you started! I have several classes over at big picture classes that I was not able to finish for one reason or another so I am going to start over and finish them ALL!!!

I also found myself looking at old scrapbook books and gathering new ideas. I loved how old some of these books were I do not know if you can even buy some of these anymore. The one I love most is The Big Picture: Scrapbook Your Life. The concept is the same just the material we maybe using is different.

Lots of Inspiring going on this last day of 2012!

I hope that 2013 brings lots of creativity & completion of unfinished projects!

Let me know what your plans for 2013 will be....

Merry Christmas!

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas Holiday!!

Hope to see you in 2013!

Thank you for stopping by!

What a mess!

When we moved I did not have time to really pack the way I wanted to. I have not given it much thought about sorting it back out due to the fact that I wonder if I will even use some of these items. I may just get a jar and display them.

Trying to get things cleaned up and start fresh for 2013!!!

Do you still use brads in your layouts?

December Daily

Hi!
I was able to work on my December Daily... Thanks for stopping by!

The book is 6x9 and I used pages from Simple Stories

On the 12th we went to see a live nativity. It was very nice.
The pocket holds the story of the nativity and our thoughts.

The tan rectangle is not part of the page.
I used it to cover the personal information I had written in the journaling.

The 14th is actually a small pocket page.

Most people are just doing their December album up to Christmas, I am planning on covering the whole month of December and potentially part of New Years celebration.

Wrapping up projects

Cover
I was able to get some progress done these past couple of days! I got my Gratitude journal set up and ready to start the final detailed journaling. Yes I know its a November project and its not November?!? Well it's ok I am OK with the fact that it is not on time as some people would say.

That is the best part of being creative it is all about YOU not anything or anyone else!!!

The cover feels like it still needs something more added to it. So I will wait until I feel what needs to be added later.

I used the free download on the 30 days from Cathy Zielske blog. I printed them smaller so they would fit on the pages easier.

I then used my facebook account to help write each day  something I was thankful for then I printed out the pages. If there were comments I added them to the pages.

Also if there were photos they were added as well.
As you can see there is some pages blank. This is where I plan to go back and journal my feeling about why I am thankful for it. I felt that part was more personal and will make it special in the coming years.
Since this was a smash book so of the graphics were getting in the way of writing anything so I added some paper where it will be easier to read and write something meaningful.

Not only did I finish the journal but I was able to get all my notes written down from my Big Picture class Twelve. I am so excited to be getting things marked off my list! I got the journal when I signed up for the class. As you can see all the tabs sticking out. I plan to use this for more ideas from other classes. I love how it is organized.

Now to get Project life in control!!!
Thanks for stopping by, what are you working on?

What's on your Workdesk Wednesday?

Hi! This is something new I hope to carry on in the coming weeks... every Wednesday many different bloggers share what they are currently working on over at the blog Stamping Ground.

So here is what my desk looks like:

I have an assistant helping, my cat Chester. I think she just likes the sun shining.

I am working on my Project life book! I have gotten 2 months done!!! Hopefully I can get more work done with this before starting in 2013. I am not sure what I am going to do next year. I feel I may change it up a bit but still thinking on that.

I would love it if the Project album was in a smaller size.

Welcome December!!

It's here the last month of 2012! WOW!!
And it has started off in high speed! I was hoping to have photos of my work on here but Nooo! I am finishing up the last week of my class this week but after that I should have more photos up!

I have 3 project going right now:

November Gratitude album: Which has everything printed in a box waiting for me to get a moment to finish it up.

December Daily: Also has everything with it just waiting to be put together.... I am starting to see a pattern here.

Project Life: I have been able to finish up to March in my Project life album. My goal is to finish out the year by the end of the year. I think I can do it with the simplicity of the pages. Just got to find a couple of days with nothing to both me. Hum how hard will that be?

Out of these I must say everything is organized in plastic boxes or zip lock bags waiting for a free moment.    New years plans is to NOT do this!!!
I picked up 8 of these boxes from Costco but they are also available here from Amazon. They are just the right size to put stuff in.

How many projects do you have going at once?

November Gratitude Mini

This November I have been working on yet another mini album. I see a theme of many mini albums coming up. I love doing them because they are so much fun!!! {PHOTO TO COME}

For this one I used a mini smash book I picked up a while back. I thought this would be perfect to use. The only issue I have with Smash books is that it seems I have to tear out pages to make the pages turn easier. I also cut off the pen holder since I would not need it with the finished product.

Each day I wrote what I was thankful for and then added photos, embellishments and journaling a little deeper to why I was thankful for the person, item or relationship.

I have a few more days to fill this book up. I should make this a new tradition.

What are you thankful for this year?

Thanks for stopping by!
