How could you not smile after seeing this cute card in your mail box???

Sending postcards

I finally got down to business and sent out a ton of postcards.Since the postage has gone up I will not send a second card if the first card gets lost. I have noticed there are a lot of people on postcrossing that sign up but never do anything past that. Which is sad as it delays people who are active to send other cards.

Here is an example of the cards I sent. I still need to make a card for 2012 but just have not gotten around to it and found the right photos.

Any suggestions?

Chicken Tortilla Soup (My version)

Chicken Tortilla Soup

Frozen Chicken Breast

Chicken Broth

Taco Seasoning

Salt/Pepper to taste

Can of Cream of Chicken Soup

Drain 1 can or left over pinto beans

Drain 1 can of corn

1 small can of tomato sauce

Guacamole

Cut up corn tortilla

Put chicken in stock pot cover with chicken broth, taco seasoning & water. Bring to a boil.

Cut up chicken and place back into the broth.

Add the can of cream of soup, guacamole, sauce, beans corn & tortilla.

Simmer until boiling. Add sour cream and cheese when serving.

Happy Mail + other stuff

Hello Again! Things have been pretty crazy this past month. It is really hard to believe that February is just days away.....where did January go? For me I got a job, so time is really limited. I forgot how hard it was to do a 40 hour a week job and keep the house straight and do all the fun crafts I like to do.

I did seat down and get my photos from December & January uploaded and printed! That was crazy to see I have not printed any photos for a while.

The cute giraffe photo I got off pinterest which seems to be the new hot trend of 2012.

Below are some of the postcards that I have received. I still need to scan some and add them. Its on my list of to-do's.

Not real happy about the postage going up this year. Makes me wonder if people will stop mailing things because of the price hike?

Happy Mail/Sad Mail day

Happy Mail day!!!

I was sadden when I went to the post office to get stamps for my postcards. The lady at the post office told me that stamps will be going up again soon. Which means less cards in and out of the mail. 

I know .98 cents is cheaper than me driving/flying to some of these destinations but still it makes me sad knowing that people will just stop sending paper mail and go to paperless.

True it is easier to do everything online as far as bills are concern but not letters. I did notice that the number of Christmas cards were less this year. As many people simply just noted their holiday wishes on facebook or was it because it cost more to mail a letter?

Keep writing hand written letters!!

WOW!! Today was a happy Mailbox day!!! I got several cards and a few that are not shown here. Will need to scan them in this week.

Semi Happy Mail

Seems like the mail is getting smaller and smaller these days. Heard that the post office is thinking about only delivering every other day? That would not be good.

I guess I need to send more to get more mail???
I know some blogs include their mailing address so people can send them post cards and letters but I really don't think people read this blog enough to do that. but I guess I would if I knew people were reading this. I know there are a hand full of friends :) Which I grateful!!

Christmas Album

It seems that the list of possible album ideas for December is flying around cyber space. My friend has added some ideas for documenting December on her blog.

I am doing good to get my project life album completed these days. I will have to look at my options and basically come up with my own idea of combining all the great ideas into one fabulous plan.

Oatmeal Cookies

I found this recipe from www.melskitchencafe.com for Oatmeal Coconut Chewies....YUM! They are really good. They only lasted 3 days!

They are easy to make and you really can not taste the coconut.

New Recipe

Last night I tried a new recipe from a blog called "The Pioneer Women" she has tons of great ideas. The one I made was the Cajun chicken pasta. I changed it up a bit, no bell peppers and I did not have any Cajun seasoning so I just added what I had in the spice rake. It was really good.
I recommend using Roma Tomatoes as regular one have too much water in them.
I was so tired I forgot to take a photo of the finish product but it really did look like hers!

Now its time to get the turkey cooked and get ready for the crazy day after shoppers.

I never get out of the house on the day after Thanksgiving. 

There is nothing that will make me get out of bed at 3 AM???
