Hello Monday!......UPDATED

Hoping that this week will be more productive and not as hot! So far we are on a great start as we got a little rain this morning and we are not 150 degrees outside. Nice change. But it will be 101 by this afternoon. Then it is suppose to rain this weekend when my sister is having her garage sale. Boo! But we need the rain.

This weekend I was able to clean up my craft room and get to my table so maybe this week I can start on a project that has been put on hold for the past few months.

I was able to get about 2 months done in my album today! It was a great feeling!!! Only 4 more to go and we are up to date!!! Can I do it???

Happy Mail

Its been a while but here are some of the postcards I have received in the mail.....

This was a photo that the sender took and sent it as a postcard. For people outside of the United States would like this photo as for us this is an everyday site.

Chickens

New update on the Chickens... They are crowing now and you can tell which one each time as they are all different. One misses a few notes while one is loud and clear.

I was able to take a photo of all my chickens with my new camera. I was impressed that it could take a panoramic photo.

The chickens are now 18 weeks old. Eggs should start coming anytime now. However with this heat it may not help the egg process.

Needlework progress

I finally started on the first of three needlepoint that I have been wanting for a while. I changed the colors from what the designer picked out. I can only do so much brown in one pattern.

This is called Rainforest Crunch by Needle Delight.

The size of this is 12 x 12.

I wanted more colors that I like pinks, purples and blues and a touch of brown.... Some of the blocks on mine is out of order : )

I will keep you updated as this project goes on. This one will take a while to do.

It is progressing by one square a day. If I am lucky two a day...

The next question who will get this as a gift??? 

"UPDATED" Hypothyroidism

About 8 months ago I found out I have Hypothyroidism. Its not bad just you feel like you are walking in a sleepy haze most of the time. I have progressed and improved over time. I have gone from needing to sleep most of the day to taking a nap every other day depending on what I do. Going to the grocery store can wear me out.


I had an appointment with a Endocrinologist today. He suggested that I have an ultrasound of my thyroid and more blood testing. The blood test doesn't worry me but the ultrasound does. I am a little worried but its mostly because my mind runs wild with the possibilities of what could happen. Most of the time worries never come true. Calming myself has become challenging. Praying when a worry comes into my head helps but it comes back.


Today I find out the results from the ultrasound and blood test.....

The results were all GREAT!!  They simply increased my meds and the ultrasound looks good as well. My next appointment will be 6 weeks from now.

Texas Heat

 While walking the dog I saw this huge crack in the ground. There has always been cracks but nothing like this one.

When I took the closeup photo I should have put a ruler or my hand near it. But I was afraid something would come out of the crack!

We need some rain! I believe it will have to rain for several days before we will get out of this drought.

Chickens

They are having a time with this heat. They are standing in a pan of water to help cool them off. I am also giving them frozen watermelons to help. 

I recently found a new feature on my camera that takes photos and turns them into drawings... kinda cool :)

They are having fun!

Meal time

Today while watching Martha Stewart, she said we all have seven meals that we rotate around for dinner. This got me thinking what is my seven meals? Do I even have seven meals? Let me think....

1. Tacos
2. Spaghetti
3. Salad
4. Beef Goulash
5. Pork Chops w/Mushroom gravy
6. Sandwiches (does this count?)
7. ??

I don't have seven really it just depends on what is on sale that week and the mood I am in at the time of cooking. So What is your seven meals?

Texas Heat!

Man its HOT!!!
The weather says 108 but it could reach higher getting closer to 111 degrees today. We will be staying inside today and praying that there are no blackouts!

Its so hot that cooking has turned into making salads and sandwiches. Not turning on the oven or stove is the plan.

Come on  cooler weather! 5 more weeks!
